ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR ILLICIT, INAPPROPRIATE AND/OR ABUSIVE LANGUAGE AND BEHAVIOR

Emerald & Co. has a zero tolerance policy related to illicit, inappropriate and/or abusive language and behavior. Any illicit or sexually suggestive remarks, comments, gestures, or advances, whether real or perceived, will result in the immediate termination of the service and client will be banned from future bookings. Any illicit drug use or possession on the premises will result in immediate termination of the service and client will be banned from future bookings. Law enforcement will be contacted as necessary. No refund, in part or full, will be issued for unused or pre-paid services or early termination of mentorship/apprenticeship due to misconduct. By purchasing services, you understand and agree to these terms.

COMMUNICABLE DISEASE AND INFECTION POLICY

According to regulation, services should not be rendered for clients experiencing an outbreak or symptoms of a communicable disease or infection. If you are experiencing any of the following, or another problem not listed here, please reschedule your appointment immediately: cold sores/canker sores/HSV1/HSV2, shingles, lice, scabies, impetigo, ringworm, warts/HPV in treatment area, pink eye/conjunctivitis, cellulitis, colds, virus, strep throat, yeast infection in treatment area, or other infections including MRSA. In order to maintain a safe working environment for staff and clients, your service will be rescheduled if you arrive to your appointment experiencing any one of these conditions and your booking fee/deposit will be forfeited. A new deposit will be required to secure a new appointment time. Please call at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule your appointment.

SKINCARE APPOINTMENT INFORMATION

Esthetician reserves the right to change any booked skincare service to a more appropriate option based on client's skin condition at the time of service. Client will only be charged for the actual service performed.

Cold Sores and Shingles can sometimes be triggered by skincare services, especially dermaplaning, chemical exfoliations, and more advanced treatments. Please begin a preventative prescription from your doctor prior to your appointment if you are prone to outbreaks.

Always avoid sun exposure for at least 48 hours and wear SPF after skincare or waxing treatments. If a longer period of sun avoidance is required, you will be notified by your esthetician.

You must avoid prescription and over the counter retinols for at least 2 weeks prior to waxing services.

Chemical Exfoliation and SWiCH Anti-Aging treatments require 4 weeks off prescription and over the counter retinols prior to treatment.

Sunburn and sun exposure must be avoided prior to waxing and exfoliating services. You may be asked to reschedule and lose your deposit if you arrive with a sunburn.

PERMANENT MAKEUP INFORMATION

See the complete list of PRE-CARE and AFTER CARE instructions here. You must abide by all precare and aftercare instructions to achieve the best results. No results are guaranteed.

If you have had previous permanent makeup done, please send a message with a photo of the area with no makeup on to emeraldstudiopmu@gmail.com PRIOR TO BOOKING.

Lip blush treatment may cause a cold sore outbreak in those who have had them in the past. If you have ever had a cold sore or canker sore, you must get a prescription medication from your doctor (not over the counter) to start a few days prior to your appointment. No exceptions.

Lip blush treatment carries a risk of hypo/hyperpigmentation because the human body releases melanin to healing skin (i.e. lip tattoos). Clients who naturally have more melanin in their lips (Fitzpatrick IV thru VI) are at increased risk for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) after a lip blushing treatment. We want to provide our clients with beautiful healed results and Tara has been trained to use proper techniques and tools to achieve a beautiful enhancement for melanin rich lips. However, clients who have a known history of PIH or hypopigmentation due to skin trauma are not recommended to undergo lip neutralization or lip blushing. This can easily be discussed/determined during a free consultation if you have any questions.

Stop all prescription retinoids (Retin-A, Tretinoin, Tazorac, etc.) and over the counter exfoliators (retinols, bakuchiol, AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, azelaic acid, etc.) for at least 4 weeks prior to tattoo.

Precautions - You are not a PMU Candidate if you:

  • Are under 18 years of age

  • Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or on fertility medication (must be off fertility drugs for 4 full months)

  • Have heart disease, a pacemaker or mitral valve prolapse (epinephrine is an ingredient in the numbing solution and can cause tachycardia and dysrhythmias)
