6 Month Apprenticeship: 3 PMU

Service Description

Note: Only 100 hours is required to earn a certificate of completion for permanent makeup fundamentals. This apprenticeship was created to go above and beyond the industry standard of a 5-7 day training that just brushes the surface and leaves students feeling unprepared to work on real clients. It spreads the learning over time so the student has time to work on their own and along with the trainer to develop real experience, muscle memory, and working knowledge of the industry. Students will develop the confidence to begin a PMU career successfully. The 6 month (26 week) apprenticeship option provides students with an in-depth training program to learn the basic fundamentals for all three types of permanent makeup using a machine – powder brows, lip blush, and lash liner (no microblading). Students will perform over 200 hours of training and observation. A minimum of 1 client will be performed by student with Tara's guidance in the final weeks of the program (max of 9, additional with fees). Student is responsible for bringing in their own clients to work on because cultivating clientele is a part of every successful career. Support and assistance is provided. The program is structured for 6 hours of instruction/observation and 4 hours of at-home practice PER WEEK for 20 weeks, and the remaining weeks may be used for make-up hours and client sessions. That is the minimum expected, but more time in the studio and practicing at home will produce the best outcome. The actual pace and completion will depend on student’s progress and can be accomplished in less than 26 weeks for determined/competent students. However, the program must be completed within 6 months (26 weeks). No extensions are given beyond 26 weeks. The 4 hour appointment scheduled with this booking will be considered the student’s first day. It will be used to orient the student to the program and policies, provide student with initial supplies/equipment, and establish a schedule for completion.
